He set up shop in Chembur, a suburb of Bombay in 1981 and subsequently in 1991, moved into a larger, lavish dental office along with an associate. However, right from the time he moved out of dental college he was continuously involved with the Indian Dental Association, becoming the President of the Bombay Branch in 1990. He has been instrumental in organising numerous conferences, educational programs etc. etc. during his courtship with the IDA. He somehow found the time to get married to Sharda and has two sweet children in Akshay and Ashwini. He, along with fellow colleagues, launched the Indian Academy of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry (IAACD) and the Indian Institute of Continuing Education & Research in 1991,92. This involvement saw him on the move (naturally speaking), continuously across the length and breadth of India and also across geographical boundaries to the U.S and Europe to participate in Periodontal and Aesthetic Conferences. A very active member of the Indian Society of Periodontology, he organized the first of the ISP conferences with an International perspective in 1995 in Bombay. Dr.A.Kumarswamy carries a
reputation of being born with a mike in his hands. He talked his
way through a graduation program in dentistry at the Government
Dental College from 1975 to 1979. He continued his vocal ways
through a post graduate degree in Periodontology from the same
college and bid his adieu to the alma mater in 1982.
