Having established his clinic in Khar, Bombay in 1980 a rapidly growing practice saw him move into a bigger dental office across the street in 1992. He is one of the founder members of the Indian Academy of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry (IAACD) and the Indian Institute of Continuing Education and Research. He lent his mite to the Indian Dental Association, being the President of the Bombay branch in 1994. He is today a most wanted speaker on the dental scene in India, with the audience looking forward to sample his inimitable wit and humour. Dr. Shetty soon found the science of Implantology to his liking and in a very short span of time, devoured all that was available in the country and was travelling abroad, learning all about Implants. Within a few years he has established himself as one of the leading Implantologists of the country and is the founder member of the Indian Society of Oral Implantologists. He is involved in full scale teaching programs to spread and train aspiring dentists to include Implants in their dental practice. Along with this unending rounds of teaching on almost all weekends of the year he has become one of the first accredited member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and at the same time managed to keep his marriage intact. Government Dental College in 1973 and walked out in 1980 with a
graduate degree in dentistry and a post graduate degree in Oral
Diagnosis and Radiology, little realising that this incurable
romantacist had left behind a host of the fairer sex with their
hearts in their mouth.
