Dr. Ajay Kakar (Bombay) is a from the batch of 1981 from N.H.D.C, Bombay. He completed his Masters in Periodontology from the same college in 1985 and started an exclusive Perio practice in Chembur, Bombay in 1986. He is married to Dr. Mona Kakar. He has a tremendous interest in computers and uses it extensively in his practice and dentistry in general

Dr. Ajit Oak (Thane) is a gradaute of the 1978 batch from N.H.D.C. Bombay. He has his private practice in Thane. He is actively involved in IDA and is currently the President of the Maharashtra State of the IDA.

Dr. Ajit Shaligram (Thane)is a graduate of the D.Y.Patil Dental College. He practices in Thane since 1995. He has a tremendous interest in chatting,trekking,singing ,cartooning. He is an active IDA member.

Dr. Ajit Shetty(Bombay) is a graduate of G.D.C Bombay and has done his masters in Oral Radiology & Diagnosis. He is today one of most accomplished Implantologists in the country and has been in the fore front of dental education in the fields of Aesthetic Dentistry and Implantology.He goes by the name of LOIN in the IDO. His wife is Shubha and a shrunk down version of Ajit can be found in his son Pranay. Pavitra, his daughter completes the family.

Dr. A.Kumarswamy(Bombay) is a graduate from the 1979 batch from G.D.C. He went on to complete his masters in Periodontology from the same college. He started his private practice in Chembur with a special emphasis on Periodontology. Today he is one of the renowned Periodontists of the country with a multifaceted activity in the field of dentistry. He is married to Sharda and has a son Akshay and a daughter Ashwini.

Dr. Deepak Vaswani(Navi Mumbai) is a graduate from the 1980 batch from N.H.D.C Bombay. He started his practice in Chembur in 1982 and later on shifted to Navi Mumbai where he set up his dental practice and a nursing home. He has an active interest in computers and is one of the consultants on IDO.

Dr. Gurinder Kaur Thind (Ludhiana) graduated from the Buddha College, Patna and is married to Rajanbir, a fellow dentist.

Dr. Jasdev Bhalla, (Meerut) is a private practitioner from Meerut and a lecturer in the Subharti Dental College, Meerut. He is pursuing his PG certification in Aesthetics from NYU. He is also a regular contributor to Dental Journals (UP State JIDA, Smile Times etc.)

Dr. Kalpana Randive(Pune) is a graduate from the 1996 batch from Bhartiya Vidayapeeth, Pune. She went on to do her master in Periodontoloy from Manipal in 1998. She practices exclusive Periodontology in Pune. She has not yet started her clinic. She is an absolute computer buff and is now known as the "Sherni" of the IDO. She is single and stays in Pune.

Keya Sircar, (Delhi) is a graduate of the year 1987 form the Nair Hospital dental College and completed her MDS in Oral Pathology in 1989. She has been in Delhi subsequent to her marraige and has her private practice. She keeps in touch with Oral Pathology by teaching at a private Dental college near Delhi.

Dr. Komil Bhalla, (Meerut) is wife of Jasdev Bhalla and a graduate as well as a postgraduate from GDC, Ahmedabad. She is a senior lecturer in Subharti Dental College, Meerut.

Dr. Mona Kakar (Bombay) is a graduate of the 1986 batch of N.H.D.C, Bombay. She is married to Dr. Ajay Kakar and has a keen interest in Aesthetics and Endodontics. She was one of the first eight dentists from India to complete a P.G. certification course in Aesthetic Dentistry from Baylor College, Dallas. She is also the first Indian to learn and practice the Automated Endodontic system created by Dr. John Jacklich from Santacruz, CA.

Dr. Rajanbir Singh Thind(Ludhiana) is a dental surgeon doing private Practice in Ludhiana. He did his graduation from Govt. Dental college Patiala , Served in C. M.C. & D. M.C.. He is married to Gurinder, a fellow dentist. In november 98, when internet came to Ludhiana, he was the first dentist to get connected and is the first dentist in Punjab {till date}to make a web site and got thind.com registered.

Dr. Rajiv Khosla (Bombay) is a graduate from the 1981 batch of G.D.C Bombay. He started his private practice in Bombay way back in 1985 in Andheri and is a leading practitioner of the area. He is the first Indian dentist to have started a personal website. Rajiv is married to Ranjana a fellow dentist from G.D.C and they have a handsome young son Aman. Rajiv is one of the consultants for the IDO mailing list.

Dr.Shyam Mahajan (Chalisgaon), affectionately known as Shamya to friends is a graduate from the 1975 batch of GDC, Bombay. He practices in Chalisgaon with Rekha (a GDCite also) and twice a week at Aurangabad. His hobbies are swimming, photography and trekking. He has been to Mount Everest. He would love to discuss rural dentistry.

Dr. S.Nitish(Chennai) is a graduate from Annamalia and did his masters in Periodontology. He is currently an Asst. Professor in Saveetha Dental College. He is married to Sujatha, a fellow dentist and has two sons Nishant and Neeraj. He has a private practice "Esthetica" in the evenings. He tries to lose his weight by swimming but always seems to add a gram or two after each session.

Dr.Sushant Umre (Delhi) is graduate of the 1980 batch from the Govt. Dental College (Bombay). He settled down in Delhi and started his big venture Dental Aesthetics in 1993 which is a multi-operatory clinic in Niti Bagh Delhi. He is also a director of Sandika Pharamaceuticals, a dental pharmaceutical company. He is married to Radha and has a very sweet daughter, Ishita. Sushant is one of the most phenomnal hosts one can ever find in the detnal fraternity.

Dr. Uday Shetty (Bombay), Babu for everybody is a graduate from GDC Bombay of the 1985 batch. He has been in private practice in Prabhadevi for the last 12 years. He is one of the founder directors of IAACD and is also a director of BITE-IN. He is married to Charita and has two children.

Dr.V.S.Mohan (Bombay) is a graduate from GDC Bombay. He started his private practice in Andheri and is today one of the foremost practitioners. He is of the first group of eight who competed the aesthetic program in Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas US. He is married to Uma and has a son Ashwin.

Dr. Shail Jaggi (Pune) is graduated from Bhartiya Vidyapeeth Pune in 1994. She completed her masters in Conservative Dentistry from DM College Dharwar in 1998. She is currently working as a lecturer in the C.S.M.S. college in the Dept. of Enddontics in Aurangabad. She is a consultant for the Inlaks Hospital, Pune and the Dhoot Hospital, Aurangabad. She is single and originally hails from the city of Pune.

Dr. Kavita Padgaonkar Ajmera (Calcutta) was born in Bombay, brought up in Delhi and settled down in Calcutta. She did her dental schooling in Dr R. Ahmed Dental College, Calcutta from the batch of 1985. She did a 2 yr stint in the Birla hopital and then opened her own office, which in April 2000 will complete 12 yrs. She is married to Himanshu, and has two boys, Hitesh and Krish. She loves the game of Golf and has travelled the country and East Asia for the open tournaments and won numerous trophies. Theatre is another of her passions.

Dr. Mekhala Kulkarni-Patil (Navi Mumbai) graduated from the Bapuji Dental College, Davangere in July 1990. She took over her grandfathers practice in Ahmednagar in July 1992 till she got married. After marraige she has started her private practice in Panvel, New Bombay in January 1996.

Dr. Sundeep Dharadhar (Bombay) if a graduate from G.D.C. Bombay. He has been in private practice for the last 10 years and is attached to Bombay Hospital for the last 7 years.

Dr. S.Balagoapal (Chennai) is a graduate from the batch of 1982 and did his Master in Endodontics in 1987. A unique feature is that he went on to do his Masters in Forensic Science which took him two years. Presently heading the Cons. dept. of the Univ Dental College at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute.

Dr. Medha Jain (Baroda) did her graduation and post graduation from GDC Ahmedabad in 1991 in Conservative Dentistry. She worked for two years in SDM College, Dharward as an Asst. Professor before returning to Baroda to set up her private practice.

Dr. Mohan Vakade (Baroda) is a graduate from G.D.C., Baroda. He completed his post graduation from the same college in Oral Surgery in 1993. He has travelled to the Cannebium Hospital, Glasgow for training in facial trauma and orthognathic surgeries. He is married to Sarika Vakade an Endodontist.

Dr. Dhananjay Joshi (Bombay) is a graduate of the 1977 batch from GDC Bombay. He did his masters in Prosthetic Dentistry from the same college in 1980. He is married to Najma, a dentist from the 1979 batch in GDC. He has been practicing in Chembur for the last 20 years. He is interested in sports and swimming.

Dr. Uma Dixit (Bombay) is a graduate of the 1985 batch of GDC, Bombay. She did her masters in Paediatric Dentistry from Iowa, USA. She worked for two years as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Missouri, Kansas City and then returned back to India She worked for 5 years in GDC Bombay for five years She has started consulting Pedo practice since one year and is attached to Dental College in Bagalkot, Karnataka as Professor and Head, Dept. of Pediatric Dentistry. She is married to Shyam Asolekar, an engineer and has a two year old son, Mihir.

Dr. Dattatraya Kamat (Bombay) is a graduate of the 1981 batch from N.H.D.C Bombay, generally called DV by all his batchmates. He started his career as a locum in Dr. Tellis clinic after graduating till 1985. He has had a foray as a teacher in his own coaching class from 1986 to 1991. He has his own clinic in Bandra at Mount Mary steps. He is married to Nirmala who runs a kindargarten and has two daughters, Rhutuja and Anuja who want emulate their father and become dentists.

Dr. Yogesh Shah(Thane), known as Yogi to friends has passed in 1985 from GDC, Bombay and has been practiscing in Thane.

Dr. D. Arunachalam, (Chennai) prefers to be called as Arun, graduated from the 1989 batch from the Madras Dental College. He did his MDS in Perio in 1991 and is in private practice in Thiruvanmiyur in Chennai. According to Nitish he almost completed a second M.D.S in Endodontics also.

Dr. Deepika Vadhar (Bombay) is a graduate of the 1997 batch from the Bhartiya Vidyapeeth in Pune. She is since then into private practice and has worked with a number of senior practitioners. She will start her own private practice but only after she gets married.

Dr. Praveen Advani (Ulhasnagar) is a graduate from the 1998 batch from D.Y.Patil College. He has been associated with a few senior practitioners and plans to start his own clinic by Jan 2000.

Dr Neil Pande, (Nepal) is our first member from Nepal. He is a graduate from the Dental College in Manipla. He is working in the dental in Kathmandu and also has a private practice. His primary interest is in Endodontics and R.P.D's. He has also started a small dental discussion group in Nepal.

Dr. Keya Chakravarty(Calcutta) Keya Chakravarty is a graduate of the North Bengal Dental College, Darjeeling She has completed a Certificate Course in Dental Implantology under the auspices of the School of Bio-Science & Engineering,Jadavpur University, Calcutta.
