The following are five video clips demonstrating the Circumferential Filing techniqe and the Washed field methods.

Circumferential Filing Video - Click here
This video shows circumferential filing being done on a clear plastic block. The Automated
Endo handpiece is being used with a Fine Cut File (Positive rake angle). The handpiece
moves the file up and down with a stroke length slightly greater than the interflute
distance. The handpiece is used to move the file around the circumference of the canal
thereby enlarging the canal.

This video shows the filing being done with a view from the top. The movement of the file
around the circumference of the canal can be clearly seen.

Washed Field Video Part I- Click here
This video demonstrates the washed field technique. A drop of Caries Indicator is
introduced in the canal space. Observe how the dye clearly outlines the root canal space.
Initially the file in introduced and a cirucumferential motion is used but without any
water. It can be noted that none of the dye moves out of the canal space. Any debris that
will be created due to the filing action will collect in the canal and tend to clog the
space. Now observe as a very small and intermittent stream of water is directed. Even an
intermittent stream of water recylces the entire liquid in the root canal in less than 30
seconds. This also flushes out all the debris. Also note that none of the liquid gets
pushed past the apex which has been made patent.
In the next video observe how a forceful copious flow of water recylces the entire liquid
in 2 to 3 seconds.

This video is a repeat demonstration of the washed field technique demonstrating how the
liquid with all the debris gets pumped out of the coronal end in a matter of 2 to 3 seconds
when the flow of water is continuous and copious.
